November 3 2022 Email to Athletes

Hi Frigid Fox Fanatics!

It’s hard to believe it’s already November: that one week of cold we had was easy to forget about with all of these amazing fall days. As we start out November, we wanted to send out an update on some of the things we’ve been working on.

Training Day
There will be a limited support training run on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at 9am. Water will be provided at the start/finish area and the Highway H turnaround. It’s a good opportunity to get out on the trail in early December for a day of fun and to meet a few fellow runners. We will support the training day until 2pm, which should allow most people to run the south out and back.

If you are interested in attending the training day, please complete the form here. If you do not submit the form, you are still welcome to join as we are trying to get a rough estimate for supply purposes. We also encourage you to bring a friend, even if they are not signed up for the race. Aid is open to all who show up.

Sponsorship Announcement

We’re excited to announce Hammer Nutrition as a sponsor for this year’s Frigid Fox Ultra Trek!

You’ll also receive additional Hammer Nutrition products at packet pick up. All of these Hammer nutrition products will be provided at each aid station on top of your standard aid station fare. For more details on aid stations, please visit our website.

Gear List
We’ve received several questions regarding a gear list. Please note that there is not a required gear list for the race. It is up to each athlete to know their limits and to plan accordingly. The winter elements can be extremely brutal. Your number one mission should be keeping yourself safe and knowing your limits. Please see our suggested gear list on our website to ensure you have appropriate gear to set you up for success.
Drop bags
There will be one tarped off area at the start/finish/45 mile area for gear bags. We will cover drop bags in the event of precipitation on race day. Each bag should be clearly marked with your name and bib number.
Awards
Historically, winter ultras have had limited finishers. By adding extra support, our hope is to increase these numbers. Awards for each gender category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be handed out, and all finishers will receive a finisher medal for finishing within the 24-hour time limit.
Volunteers
We are looking for aid station volunteers. Each shift is roughly four hours. Hours can be flexible for volunteer shifts, so please specify available hours at the time of signup. Volunteer signup can be found here.   – Frigid Fox, [email protected]
